Pickin' Punkins

Yes Ty, you found the BEST one in the field!!
It is so much fun to go pick our own pumpkins. They have hay mazes for the kids, corn mazes for the big kids, a petting farm and tons of yummy treats for sale. My dear hubby bought me a M&M covered caramel apple, I had to share with the kids and somehow I got just the apple. I bought my dear hubby a bag of roasted green chili's.
We put those in our dinner that night.

The Joys of having a "HOME" ...
Some of the simple things we didn't realize we were missing living in our town home. We never had 'out-door' responsibilities. I didn't know it could be so fun.
All I could think about while I took these photos was the Charlie Brown cartoon where Linus jumps in the leaves with a sticky sucker face. If you notice... Zack has a sticky peanut-butter-and-jelly face. He did not care at all.
There is ALWAYS one child to ruin a perfect shot.
Still, too cute!!

The pile was much bigger than Zack!! He was outside ALL DAY, helping Jordan rake and jump into the pile of leaves. His laugh and Jordan's laugh was priceless!
Tyler loved jumping but not raking.
Doesn't surprise me. The best part was throwing the leaves up in the air. We had a great day doing simple things in the yard. Moments we never knew we missed, I am so glad my kids get to experience this now.
Lesson learned: 12 or 2, you are NEVER to old to play in the leaves.

Happy 14th Anniversary, baby!!

WOW!! You have been by my side thru it all. I am more in love with you now than ever before. We finally have a house to grow old in together, and watch our kids grow up. You have taught me about football and the NFL, I have taught you about kids and, well, kids. Together we make a good 'team'.
Here is to many more anniversaries celebrated by just being together, wondering what is for dinner, and arguing over who is going to cook it. ( I want you to, but you will probably ALWAYS have football practice.)
I wouldn't want it any other way.
I love you.

Thanks, Tiff...
OMG!!! I love it!! I cannot believe how nicely it cleans up my floors, carpet and hard wood! The 14 years we have been married, we have gone thru maybe 10 different (cheap-o) vacuumes, and they never 'sucked' the way this baby does. I actually get vacuum lines in my floor!! I have never had vacuum lines before. Amazing, and all because my baby sister Blogged about her Dyson.
I love it.
October Family Project

We were asked to decorate a pumpkin picture that Mrs. Lee sent home with Emily. The whole family had to help. Emily and I talked about how she wanted to decorate it and of course it had to be pink and sparkly. Here is a run down of who did what:
We got Daddy to draw the Princess Pumpkin's face,
Jordan cut the face out of glitter paper,
Tyler watched,
Zack ate Hot-Chocolate oatmeal next to the project,
Mommy glued all the pieces down,
Emily glued the "feather" paper down,
Tyler watched,
Mommy cleaned up Zack,
Emily drew eye-lashes,
Daddy watched the Football game,
Jordan made brownies,
Tyler watched,
Emily wrote a story about the Pumpkin Princess,
Zack ran around with the scissors,
Mommy chased after Zack,
Emily glued all the Jewels on the Princess Pumpkin, then...
Mommy pulled out the Princess Pumpkin's Royal Crown!! It has a very small battery in it and when you push the button, it blinks red, yellow and blue lights!! The perfect fit for our Royal Family Princess Pumpkin!! We had a fun time with this project. You may NEVER see a pink, princess pumpkin again!!

Feelin' Yucky
I woke up yesterday feelin' YUCKY!! Congested, achy, irritated and cold.
Emily woke up feelin' the same way. We went to school and pushed our way thru it, hoping it would pass. Emily feels a little bit better, but me
No such luck...
Today:
I slept in late,
Didn't want to shower (although that usually helps)
Didn't eat much
Took lots of cold medicine
Stayed in my Jammie's all day
Missed Jordan's Football game (not going outside in cold, muggy weather)
Turned up the thermostat
Made appointments for flu shots for everyone
This, while the whole while, Zack is on his 3rd bowl of Kellogg's High School Musical cereal, after downing 2, 3" thick slices of Bavarian Cream Butter Braid, and 1 8oz glass of milk. Must be nice. Pig.
Oh, this time of year... Take your vitamins!!

Kindergarten Field Day

Emily's class had field day at school. The games are NOT what they used to be. No shoe kick, no relays, no competition - at all!!
My beautiful girl INSISTED on wearing her pretty yellow dress, I don't think she really knew what "field day" was.
That is OK, she participated in every event, and had a HUGE smile every time.
Afterwards all the kids got a water-bottle that said,
"Green Gables Field Day 2008"
What happened to the ribbons? The competition? I am somewhat upset that there was no first, second third place for anything. That is what made me HATE field day, but I still enjoyed the day. Things have changed so much over the years. Oh well - she still had a good time and got to end the day with a Popsicle.

Our New House
It is so nice to be in our own house. The kids love their rooms, we have tons of space, and I love my kitchen / dining room. I will post more pictures, later. We are living out of boxes for now. It is slow going, but I am so happy!!
