Football Widow

It has happened. You'd think I would be used to it, after all, every August for the last 14 years I go thru this.
Football Season.
I can never escape it. Madden comes out for the video systems, then training camp, then pre-season games, then the Season opener, then...
Football Season.
Don't get me wrong, I am Blue and Orange, thru and thru. I do enjoy watching the first 2 or 3 games of the season, and I even watch the first few plays the rest of the season. I love making dips and appetizers for us to munch on. Hot Wings, Chili, what ever, but I do miss the attention I get the other 6 months out of the year.
Football Season.
Ladies, it is here.

Getting Older

Baby Kim
2 year old Kim
Wife & Mommy Kim
All the people I am. Look what I have become. The most important person I can ever be - MOM.
Four beautiful kids, a wonderful husband. Although I dread the arrival of August 24, I look forward to another amazing year of 'what is to come'. Hopefully a house soon, watching the kids get another year older, learning new things, perfecting their passions. Watching the years show themselves in the grey that Todd is constantly shaving off his head and face. I cannot believe that 36 years have gone by...
I wouldn't change a minute.

Back to School

Tyler & Emily go to Green Gables Elementary, Ty started 4th grade and Em is in a.m. Kindergarten. This is such a good school, the kids love it.
Middle School. My Jordan is in Middle School. He really enjoys it. They have an internet access 'parent portal', where I can go and check his missing assignments, attendance, and anything else I need to know about. It has been very helpful so far in keeping Jordan on track, and wil ensure that he gets things turned in on time.
Phew... I may not have to panic after all!

CHEEZE!!!

Jealous of the pictures I was taking of Emily, Zack was pulling on my pants saying, "Zack turn cheese, Zack turn cheese, mommy!!" How could I resist?

August Family Project...

Here is Emily's 'Treasure Box' or her August Family Project. We had to decorate this box for her to keep her Reading Books in that she brings home from school. We used Little Princess scrapbooking paper and decopauged(sp?) it to the box - messy - then she put the princesses on the sides and stickers all over, then Daddy put her name on the top with rhinestone alphabet stickers - EMILY KAY SCHULTZ - it is just beautiful. She will take it to school next week and show it off, then when she brings it home, we will keep it in her 'cozy corner' or 'book nook' that we will set up for her. She will have some books that she can practice reading and add to as she gets more.

Kindergarten Fun!

Emily is starting Kindergarten this year at Green Gables Elementary. She is in the a.m. class and so far she LOVES it!! Every month they have a "Family Project" that the whole family can help her with, and turn in. It is usually due in 1 or 2 weeks after she gets it. I think it will be fun to scan and share all the Kindergarten Family Projects that we work on. I think I am going to love this Kindergarten year also. I miss teaching!!This first project - or 'August Project' is a paper doll she has to make in her likeness - OK, Mom helped her a lot, but Emily drew her face. I have never had so much fun doing homework as I did with this project. Her class will graph them on the class birthday board. What a good idea. The dress is made out of glitter paper and I used my stick on rhinestones. Don't you LOVE the curles? We also have to make a 'Treasure Box' for her class books she will bring home. Once that is done, I will take pictures of it to share. I think we will decopauge(sp?) it with pretty scrapbook paper and add princess stickers and more rhinestones. We will see. Oh, I guess I should let everyone else help, too. What a fun Kindergarten year this will be!!

Happy Birthday, Zacky!!

Make a wish...
Thank you AB & Alice!! A fire-truck!!
Yummy cake.
AB, Emily and Alice all help open presents. Zack had a fun little party at the park with his cousins. Grandma's and Grandpa's (Schultz's and Runyan's) and Aunt's and Uncle's came to celebrate, too.
We did Zack's favorite, CARS, and everyone had a good time.
I cannot believe my baby boy is 2!!

the Karate Kid, part 2

Well he finally did it!! He got his yellow belt. He is really enjoying Karate and once school starts, he will be more cosistant in getting to class. I am so proud of him!!

Cross your fingers and keep us in your prayers, we have been waiting for a house for a LONG time, and for the size of family we have, this house will fit us all perfectly!! A little elbow grease, some paint and eventually new carpet, and we will have the "Home" we deserve!! We just wont have any money!! I couldn't be happier!!
